What CT Firewood Delivery is

CT Firewood Delivery is a listing forum and marketplace platform that connects customers with independent firewood dealers in Connecticut. We provide the technology for buyers to find dealers and for dealers to receive and manage orders. We do not sell firewood, we do not employ dealers, and we do not supervise their operations. By using this site, you agree to these terms.

Dealers are independent contractors

All dealers on this platform are independent businesses or individuals operating as independent contractors. CT Firewood Delivery is not a party to any transaction between a customer and a dealer. Dealers are solely responsible for:

• The wood they sell — species, quantity, seasoning, and condition
• Pricing, scheduling, and delivering their orders
• Carrying appropriate business insurance
• Compliance with all applicable state, local, and federal laws and regulations
• Obtaining and maintaining any required licenses or certifications

Dealer certifications and legal compliance

Dealers are solely responsible for determining which certifications, permits, and licenses apply to their business and for obtaining and maintaining them. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Connecticut Forester Practitioner certification (required for harvesting 50+ cords/year from land you do not own, per Connecticut General Statutes)
• Firewood transportation compliance under CGS § 23-46b
• Business registrations, sales tax collection, and any applicable permits

CT Firewood Delivery does not verify dealer certifications beyond what dealers self-report in their applications. Listing on this platform does not constitute certification, endorsement, or verification of legal compliance. Dealers who provide false information about their certifications may be removed from the platform.

Orders and payment

When you place an order, you are purchasing directly from an independent dealer. Your card is authorized at checkout but you are not charged until delivery is confirmed. If your order is cancelled before delivery, your authorization is released and you are never charged. CT Firewood Delivery collects a platform fee, which is included in the price shown. Dealers set their own base prices.

Delivery and quality

Dealers are responsible for delivering on the agreed timeline and for the accuracy of their listings. See the Quality Control page for details on how we vet dealers and handle complaints.

Cancellations and refunds

Orders may be cancelled before the dealer has confirmed your delivery date. Once delivery is scheduled, cancellations are subject to dealer discretion. For quality disputes, contact us at support@ctfirewooddelivery.com and we will investigate.

Dealer accounts

Dealers agree to list accurately, deliver what they sell, carry appropriate insurance, comply with all applicable laws and certifications, and treat customers professionally. CT Firewood Delivery reserves the right to suspend or remove dealer accounts that violate these standards, provide false information, or generate repeated customer complaints.

Limitation of liability

CT Firewood Delivery is a listing forum and marketplace platform. We are not liable for disputes between customers and dealers, for dealer compliance with any law or regulation, or for any act or omission of a dealer. We are not responsible for delays, property damage during delivery, or dealer conduct. Our liability in connection with any transaction is limited to the platform fee collected on that transaction.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
